Tauplitzalm

The Tauplitzalm youth guesthouse is located at an altitude of 1.650 m in the Styrian Salzkammergut, above Bad Mitterndorf. The accommodation sits on one of the most beautiful high plateaus in Europe and is surrounded by the impressive mountain world of the Totes Gebirge and the striking Grimming massif.

In winter, you have direct access to ski slopes and cross-country trails. In summer, hikes and walks start right on the doorstep – ideal for experiencing nature amid a unique alpine panorama.

The house has a total of 187 beds. In addition to double rooms, there are 6-, 8- and 10-bed rooms in cosy timber construction with high-quality bunk beds.

All rooms have their own bathroom (shower/WC), and some also have a balcony or terrace with views of the surrounding mountain landscape.

A lift means the house is also accessible for people with reduced mobility.

Three dining rooms offer plenty of space and can be used flexibly for different group sizes.

There are also plenty of options for leisure and exercise in the house:

• Chill-out area
• Board games
• Panoramic indoor pool (6×12 m)

This means there is a varied choice of activities even in bad weather.

A spacious wellness area with a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains provides relaxation.

In addition, a large sun terrace invites you to relax and enjoy the alpine landscape.

In winter, Tauplitzalm offers ideal conditions for winter sports. Ski slopes and cross-country trails can be reached directly from the house, making it easy to start your ski day.

The snow-sure location and the varied slopes make the area particularly attractive for winter sports fans.

In summer, Tauplitzalm turns into a true natural paradise. Numerous hiking trails start directly from the house, including the well-known 6 Lakes Hike, which is one of the most beautiful panoramic routes in the Alps.

• Via ferratas (e.g. on the Traweng)
• Trips to natural highlights such as waterfalls and mountain lakes

In summer, the youth guesthouse is run as self-catering accommodation and has a generously equipped kitchen.
