Tauplitzalm

The Jugendgästehaus Tauplitzalm is located at 1,650 m in the Styrian Salzkammergut, above Bad Mitterndorf. The accommodation sits on one of the most beautiful high plateaus in Europe and is surrounded by the impressive mountains of the Totes Gebirge and the striking Grimming massif.

In winter, there is direct access to ski slopes and cross-country trails. In summer, hikes and walks start right on the doorstep – ideal for experiencing nature amid a unique alpine panorama.

The house has a total of 180 beds. In addition to double rooms, there are 6-, 8- and 10-bed rooms in cosy timber construction with high-quality bunk beds.

All rooms have their own bathroom (shower/WC), and some also have a balcony or terrace overlooking the surrounding mountains.

A lift ensures that the house is also accessible barrier-free.

Three dining rooms offer plenty of space and can be used flexibly for different group sizes.

There are also plenty of opportunities for leisure and exercise inside the house:

• Panoramic indoor pool (6×12 m)

So there is plenty to do even when the weather is bad.

A spacious wellness area with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains provides relaxation.

In addition, a large sun terrace invites you to relax and enjoy the alpine scenery.

In winter, the Tauplitzalm offers ideal conditions for winter sports. Ski slopes and cross-country trails can be reached directly from the house, making for an easy start to your day on the slopes.

The snow-sure location and the varied slopes make the area particularly attractive for winter sports enthusiasts.

In summer, the Tauplitzalm turns into a real nature paradise. Numerous hiking trails start right from the house, including the well-known 6-lakes hike, one of the most beautiful panoramic tours in the Alps.

In summer, the youth guesthouse is run as self-catering accommodation and has a generously equipped kitchen.
