A warm welcome to the Jugendgästehaus Tauplitzalm! Located right in the ski area at an altitude of 1,650 m, our accommodation offers the best conditions for a school ski trip full of sporting challenges and community. No ski bus, no waiting: just strap on your skis or snowboard and head straight from the house onto the slopes!
The "Die Tauplitz" ski area – variety and snow-sure conditions
With 43 kilometres of slopes (18 km blue, 19 km red, 6 km black), Die Tauplitz is the largest single ski area in Styria and ideal for every ability level. The car-free, quiet surroundings of the Tauplitzalm create a safe, relaxed atmosphere in the middle of nature. From wide runs on the Lawinenstein and Schneiderkogel for beginners to sporty slopes at the Mitterstein 8-seater gondola – everyone will find their perfect run here. Freeride fans also get their money's worth, with varied lines and snow-sure conditions until Easter thanks to modern snowmaking.
Relaxing at the Jugendgästehaus Tauplitzalm
Freshly renovated in 2019, the youth guesthouse combines a cosy atmosphere with a wide range of leisure facilities. The panoramic indoor pool and the stone-pine sauna offer ideal conditions to relax after a long day on the slopes and share your experiences.

No hidden extra costs
Travel
For both coach and car travel: as the Jugendgästehaus Tauplitzalm is located right in the ski area, it is not possible to drive up to the house. The 1.5 km route from the Tauplitzalm car park to the house must be covered on foot. Walking time: 20-30 minutes. We will of course take care of transporting your luggage.
When choosing our coach partners, we focus on quality and safety. All vehicles used are regularly serviced and are therefore in perfect technical and visual condition. The modern long-distance coaches are at least 3-star category and have reclining seats, air conditioning, WC, TV/DVD and plenty of legroom. Our long-standing partners stand out for their professional service and compliance with the statutory driving and rest times. With us, you will reach your destination safely and comfortably!
The coach runs as a shuttle. To keep the school ski trip as affordable as possible, you may have to share the coach with another school to avoid empty seats. The outward journey is overnight from Thursday to Friday. Your personal departure time depends mainly on where your school is travelling from. Arrival at the house is usually planned for 8:00 am on Friday. The return journey from the Tauplitzalm leaves at around 9:30 am.
