Fancy something new now and then? So did we! Since winter 2025 we have been warmly welcoming you to our new Jugendgästehaus Tauplitzalm. The former 4-star hotel, completely renovated in 2019, is located at 1,650 m and of course you'll once again be staying right in the ski area. Ski-in ski-out. We love it!
With 43 kilometres of slopes (blue: 18 km, red: 19 km, black: 6 km) up to an altitude of 1,965 m, Die Tauplitz is the largest single ski area in Styria. The heart of the ski area is the beautiful, car-free Tauplitzalm. Whether newbie or pro: there's something for everyone on the slopes. At the Mitterstein 8-seater gondola, for example, there are sporty and long runs, while the wide, sweeping and less steep slopes on the Lawinenstein and Schneiderkogel are more for those who like to take it easy.
Is freeriding your passion? Then Die Tauplitz is exactly the right place for you! Numerous lines of different lengths and gradients await you – varied, versatile and perfect for anyone who wants to head off-piste. Die Tauplitz has won several awards and is one of the most snow-sure ski areas in the Alps. Thanks to modern snowmaking, the winter season is also usually secured until Easter. For advanced skiers and snowboarders, our camp leaders offer voluntary accompanied skiing so you can quickly find your way around the ski area and discover the best spots. After the slopes, you can chill in your cosy room or relax at the wellness area, for example. Look forward to the panoramic indoor pool (6 x 12 metres) and the stone-pine panoramic sauna. Please note the information on the wellness area under Accommodation (see below). You'll find tasty cold drinks in our cosy Stüberl. There you can switch into party mode or simply enjoy a relaxed evening. Once a week, there is an après-ski afternoon on the sun terrace.

Travel
For both coach and car travel: as the Jugendgästehaus Tauplitzalm is located right in the ski area, it is not possible to drive up to the house. The 1.5 km route from the Tauplitzalm car park to the house must be covered on foot. Walking time: 20-30 minutes. We will of course take care of transporting your luggage. If you travel by car: tolls (€16) and parking fees (€5.50/night) apply for the drive to the Tauplitzalm car park. You must pay these fees yourselves. On our ski camps for 18-26-year-olds, the outward journey is usually overnight. So you board at your pick-up point late in the evening or at night and arrive at your destination the next morning. All our coaches have reclining seats. Make yourselves really comfortable on the coach and use the overnight journey to sleep, so you can get going straight away on the slopes on arrival day. You can choose your pick-up point when you book. In the so-called customer centre (you will receive access with your booking confirmation), you will find the provisional departure and arrival times no later than 4 weeks before the trip starts, and the final times and the addresses of the stops no later than 7 days before the trip starts. Arrival at the Jugendgästehaus Tauplitzalm is planned for around 8:30 am. For the 09./10.02.-14.02. date (Weekly 07): the return journey may be by train from Munich instead. The transfer from the Tauplitzalm to Munich will in any case be by coach. When choosing our coach partners, we focus on quality and safety. All vehicles used are regularly serviced and are therefore in perfect technical and visual condition. The modern long-distance coaches are at least 3-star category and have reclining seats, air conditioning, WC, TV/DVD and plenty of legroom. Our long-standing partners stand out for their professional service and strict compliance with the statutory driving and rest times.
