Welcome to 1,700 metres above sea level, in the heart of the Zillertal Arena and on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park – where the newly opened Youth Guesthouse Gerlosplatte has been the perfect base for exciting school trips to the Alps since 2020. Located just around 180 kilometres south of Munich, this modern guesthouse brings together outstanding sporting opportunities, alpine nature and thoughtfully designed facilities to create an ideal setting for unforgettable school experiences.

Active Holidays at Their Best – Sport Meets Nature

A summer school trip to Gerlosplatte means: out of the classroom and into adventure! The alpine surroundings invite all kinds of activities – whether on varied hiking trails, mountain biking, or exciting discovery tours around Hochkrimml. The fresh mountain air, shared experiences and the thrill of conquering new challenges not only build fitness and self-confidence, but also strengthen the bonds within the class. Along the way, a mindful respect for the natural environment develops almost all by itself.

The youth guesthouse offers generous space for entire year groups, with 71 rooms and a total of 456 beds. All rooms – furnished with plenty of light natural wood – have their own shower and toilet. Students stay in 8-bed rooms, while teachers have access to single and double rooms, subject to availability. The bright dining rooms can be flexibly adapted for group sizes of 25 to 190 people and can also be used as common areas. Particularly impressive is the sweeping view of the surrounding mountain landscape – inspiration and relaxation included. You'll also be well fuelled for every day: a varied breakfast and two hot meals daily keep energy levels high. On day trips, packed lunches are available on request. And the best part: water and ski water are available free of charge throughout the day – perfect for active hours in the fresh mountain air.

A Packed Programme – Unforgettable Experiences Guaranteed

The modern accommodation at Gerlosplatte leaves nothing to be desired: alongside table tennis, foosball, air hockey, billiards, hammocks and dartboards, there is also a fireplace lounge, a cosy Stüberl and sauna areas. Outside the guesthouse, Gerlosplatte impresses with a wide range of leisure activities too. Whether it's action-packed rafting, canyoning, a canoe tour on the Durlassboden reservoir, or an energetic trampoline workshop – there's something for everyone. These activities can be added individually and are guaranteed to deliver plenty of fun, team spirit and lasting memories.
