School ski trip Zillertal Arena

Staying at 1,700 m with the slopes right outside the door... In winter 2020 we opened our new Jugendgästehaus Gerlosplatte in the Zillertal Arena. Only the name has stayed the same – everything else is “brand spanking new”.  You can find detailed information about the house under “Accommodation”. Skiing places high demands on coordination and fitness. Once the first uncertainties and fears have been overcome, the school ski trip becomes an unforgettable experience for many pupils. Doing sport together in nature also strengthens the class community and environmental awareness. Experience what makes a school ski trip special at our new Jugendgästehaus Gerlosplatte. The Zillertal Arena ski area starts right outside the door: no ski bus, no waiting – just head straight off. With 147 kilometres of slopes (11 km black, 87 km red, 46 km blue, 3 km ski route), the Zillertal Arena is the largest ski area in the Zillertal, and thanks to altitudes of up to 2,500 m and numerous snowmaking systems, snow is guaranteed until Easter. There are ski movie and speed check slopes as well as a total of three fun parks. The ski area also has the longest valley run in Austria, with a vertical drop of 1,930 metres. Beginners' lessons can take place right next to the house. Lunch is eaten together in the house. Then a short break to relax before the skis go back on. In the evening, after a perfect day on the slopes, you can relax in the house's own sauna – with a fantastic view over Hochkrimml and Königsleiten...
