Nestled in the stunning mountain scenery of the Kaisergebirge, right at the foot of the Unterberg in the beautiful village of Kössen, sits the Sportgästehaus – an ideal base for unforgettable adventures in the heart of the Kaiserwinkl region. The accommodation has space for up to 120 guests, making it a perfect fit for school groups.

Experience nature, push boundaries – grow together

A summer school trip to the Austrian Alps is so much more than just a change of scenery: it opens up space for movement, outdoor experiences, and real togetherness. Whether on varied hiking trails, thrilling mountain bike tours, or exciting explorations through the alpine landscape – nature becomes a living classroom. Students discover new sides of themselves and their classmates, rise to new challenges, and create lasting memories. Along the way, shared experiences in the group naturally strengthen social bonds and foster a mindful relationship with the environment.

Comfortable rooms & great food – for restful nights and active days

The practical multi-bed rooms (2–10 beds) mostly have their own showers and toilets, with additional bathroom facilities available on each floor. Teachers stay comfortably in single or double rooms with en-suite bathrooms and a balcony – with wonderful views of the mountains.

A special bonus: a cosy lounge with a bar is available exclusively for teachers and older students – perfect for relaxed evenings in good company.

The catering leaves nothing to be desired either: a hearty breakfast and two hot meals a day keep everyone fuelled up. If you're out and about during the day, you can swap lunch for a packed lunch to take with you. Iced tea and water are also available free of charge throughout the day – ideal for active days in the sun.

Games, sport and fun – indoors and out

Beyond the mountain excursions, the Sportgästehaus has plenty more to offer: in the games and common rooms, table tennis, foosball, air hockey, billiards and darts are all waiting for action. Those who'd rather dance, unwind or chill out will love the in-house disco, the wellness area with sauna, steam room and relaxation room, the cosy TV lounge, Wi-Fi access, and a kiosk with everything your heart desires. A projector for movie nights or presentations is also available.

Outside, the action continues: the 6,500 square metre outdoor grounds feature a parkour trail, in-ground trampolines, football goals, a volleyball net, a basketball hoop, a slackline – and, of course, the absolute highlight: the on-site pool! All facilities are free for guests to use.

A summer favourite: on request, a water slide can also be set up – great fun for everyone! There is a one-off fee of €50 per group.
