Schön - schöner - Schönfeld! 

 

School ski trips are a real highlight: the sporting experience in nature thrills pupils and teachers alike. Together, the pupils learn new ways of moving and improve their motor skills. This boosts self-confidence and team spirit within the class. Experience a great ski week at our Familien- und Jugendgästehaus Schönfeld.

The former 3-star hotel enjoys a stunning location at 1,750 m on the border between Salzburg and Carinthia. The favourable altitude and the snow-sure Nock Mountains make this region a real “snow pocket”. Or in other words: schön - schöner - Schönfeld

On the "Mattehans side" (the mountain opposite the house) there is a T-bar lift, an 80 m rope tow with button lifts and a 120 m magic carpet. The beginners' area alone therefore covers around 10,000 m². On Thursdays you can hold a slalom race and a ski rally. The equipment for the slalom race (poles, drill, etc.) and a prepared ski rally are provided for you. We also prepare a snow tubing run (uphill via the magic carpet), which can be used free of charge after the lifts close.

The T-bar lift on the Schilchernock side (the mountain on the "house side") will remain closed for the time being.

Here is a brief overview of the Schönfeld ski area once again:

 

• T-bar lift on the Mattehans side (length: 590 m, vertical difference: 193 m)

• 80 m button lift on the Mattehans side

• 120 m magic carpet on the Mattehans side

• Snow tubing run – uphill via the magic carpet

• Thursdays: ski rally and slalom course for the final race

 

Innerkrems / Grosseck-Speiereck

 

In autumn 2022, the investor initiative Alpenjuwel Nockalm was launched for the Innerkrems ski area. However, we currently assume that this project will not yet be implemented next winter and that the Innerkrems ski area will remain closed. As an alternative, we therefore offer you a free shuttle to the Grosseck-Speiereck ski area (50 kilometres of slopes, see attached piste map). You receive a ski pass allocation for the Grosseck-Speiereck ski area (number of people x 3 ski pass days), which you can use as you wish. This means advanced skiers can go to Grosseck-Speiereck more than 3 times, provided the beginners do not use up the full allocation. The coach journey takes 35 to 60 minutes, depending on the weather and snow conditions.

Of course, for the ski days at Grosseck-Speiereck you can put together a generous packed lunch at breakfast. At the top station of the Sonnenbahn in St. Michael there is a common room, which is usually available to you for the lunch break (availability depends on other groups and is clarified in advance).

The youth guesthouse and the Schönfeld region are very close to our hearts. We know that many of our regular guests feel the same. The concept described above – with which we want to make sure that both beginners and advanced skiers have an unforgettable ski week – has been very well received by all groups since winter 2021/2022.
