Fancy mountains, the sea, new people and lots of shared experiences? You enjoy working with children and young people and, rather than a classic office job, you want to experience something?
Then become a camp leader at YOUNGSTAR TRAVEL!
As a camp leader, you accompany our participants on their trips and, together with other camp leaders, make sure a few days of holiday become an unforgettable trip. Along the way, you meet new people, take on responsibility, bring in your own strengths and gain plenty of experience.
How does the application work?
The first step is really easy: you fill in our online application form and tell us a bit about yourself, your interests and your previous experience.
We then take a look at your application and get in touch with you to discuss everything else.
Never worked as a camp leader before? No problem! Previous experience is of course a plus, but not a requirement. If, for example, you are already active in a club, have looked after sports groups, have been on camps or have experience with children and young people, that's great.
Even more important to us are motivation, reliability, a sense of responsibility and enjoying working with groups.
You'll learn the rest at our annual training weekend.
Your preparation: the training weekend
Once a year, our camp leaders come together for our training weekend. It's not just about theory – lots of the content is tried out in practice straight away.
The programme includes:

First aid

Legal basics & the law on the road

Planning and running shows

Sports modules such as mountain biking, canoeing and climbing
That way you get the knowledge you need and can prepare for your assignments together with other camp leaders.
What jobs are there at YOUNGSTAR TRAVEL?
We offer various roles – both in summer and in winter.
Kiosk & Stüberl
Our kiosk and Stüberl weeks take place in summer and in winter. During these periods, mainly school classes and private guests are on site rather than camps. As a camp leader, you help run the kiosk, take on shifts in the Stüberl and help out on changeover day.
Sports camp leader in summer
You're sporty and would like to run activities with young people? Then you can work as a sports camp leader.
Depending on the trip and assignment, your tasks may include instructing mountain biking, canoeing or climbing for school classes.
Assignments as a sports camp leader are paid.
Camp leader in summer
In summer, our camp leaders work on various youth trips and camps.
As a camp leader, you accompany the participants through everyday life on the trip, help with activities and programme items, keep spirits high and are a point of contact for the group.
In summer, the main roles are camp manager and camp leader.
Camp leader in winter
In winter, too, our camp leaders are out and about in Austria. There are various roles here:

Depending on the role, you have different areas of responsibility and can bring in your own strengths.
What's included for you?
The best part: working with YOUNGSTAR TRAVEL doesn't mean sacrificing your free time without getting anything out of it yourself.
Travel there and back, accommodation and meals are free for you.
During your assignment, you stay with other camp leaders in shared rooms and are right in the middle of the action on site.

So you can combine your assignment perfectly with a little break in the mountains or at one of our other destinations.
Working where others go on holiday
Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?
Instead of sitting in an office every day, you can be on the slopes in winter, out on a mountain bike in summer, try out new activities together with young people or wind down the day with other camp leaders in the evening.
Of course, it's not just about fun. As a camp leader, you take on responsibility and are an important part of the trip. You are a point of contact for the participants, work in a team and help make sure everyone feels comfortable.
It's exactly this mix of responsibility, community and free time that makes the job so special for many of our camp leaders.
What should you bring with you?
You don't have to be a pro or a trained youth work professional.
What matters most is that you:

like to get actively involved
Experience in youth work, sport, clubs or on camps is of course great – but not essential.
And what's left at the end?
New friendships, lots of stories, loads of experience and probably a pretty full photo folder.
Many of our camp leaders come back more than once. A first assignment turns into more trips, colleagues become friends, and for many, a holiday job becomes a regular part of their summer or winter.
